Devs "R" Us, a software development house, was facing a challenge in setting up a questing platform for their client's Web3 game. By leveraging Domino, Devs R Us simplified their process dramatically. Domino handles all 38 quest verifications, from on-chain checks to social media actions. This allowed the team to focus solely on the frontend, significantly reducing development time.
"We're saving at least 90% of our setup time with Domino," says Archimedes, who runs Devs R Us. "What used to take 2–3 days now takes just 15 minutes."
Devs R Us was contracted to build an in-app questing platform and NFT marketplace for The Bornless, an upcoming horror extraction game. They needed to implement 38 different quests like hold an NFT for 7 days, or subscribe to our Youtube, each requiring custom validation logic.
"Before Domino, we had to set up a whole AWS infrastructure for each project," Archimedes explains. "It was time-consuming and repetitive. We were spending days on quest setup instead of focusing on the actual quest logic."
Domino allowed Devs R Us to automate much of their quest setup process. Domino's automations handle quest verifications, logging, and error handling automatically, allowing developers to focus on the core logic of each quest.
"Now we can focus on what the quest actually needs to do," says Archimedes. "Everything else is handled for us."
Key results include:
"It opened up a world of possibilities," Archimedes notes. "We can now take on quests that would have been a pain to implement before."
The Devs R Us team reports a significant boost to their development efficiency. Automating all quest verifications in one place allows developers to focus on more engaging work.
"It's been great for the team," Archimedes says. "We can worry about the logic, what does it actually need to do, and then worry about that. That's pretty much it."
This improvement extends to their clients as well. With faster setup times, Devs R Us can deliver more features and take on more complex projects.
For Archimedes, a key advantage was Domino's flexibility. "When the client said said, instead of using Zealy, let's do custom, we said, okay, no problem. We just took the quest verification automations we built in Domino for our Zealy quests and used them on our custom built quest platform, because the Domino workflows work both ways."
This flexibility allows Devs R Us to adapt quickly to client needs, whether they're using third party quest platforms or creating custom quest frontends.
Devs R Us plans to expand their use of Domino as they take on more Web3 projects. They're particularly interested in integrations with IPFS and Arweave for NFT metadata storage.
"There's so much potential," Archimedes says. "Domino keeps evolving with our needs."
When asked what he'd say to others considering Domino, Archimedes is clear: "I would say give it a try because it'll probably answer most of your problems."
He highlights Domino's unique position in the Web3 space: "There isn't really a tool like this."
For Web3 developers in particular, Archimedes sees Domino as essential. "Anyone like me who are contractors looking to churn out solutions pretty quickly… dev shops here and there. That's where the biggest benefit is."
In an ecosystem where development speed and flexibility are critical, Domino has become an indispensable tool for Devs R Us. By automating quest verifications, it allows the team to focus on what matters most - creating value for their clients and pushing the boundaries of Web3 development.
