Gamifying Breakpoint 2025
How Solflare and Domino turned a conference into a game, airdropped $250,000 in rewards, and fought off four waves of sybil attacks—all through a Telegram Mini App.
The numbers speak for themselves
Breakpoint 2025 became one of the most engaging conference activations in Web3 history.

Conference booths had an engagement problem.
Attendees might stop by for merch, maybe scan a QR code, and move on. Meaningful engagement? Rare. On-chain conversions are even rarer. This year at Breakpoint, Solflare wanted to flip the script—instead of competing for attention booth-by-booth, what if the entire conference became one interconnected quest?
The Breakpoint Questboard
Solflare launched a Telegram Mini App using Domino's quest infrastructure—turning the entire conference into a treasure hunt.
19 Partner Booths
Each partner submitted 3–7 custom quests. Solflare, Entropy, Carrot, Zeus, Nobody, MonkeDAO, and 13 more created unique challenges for attendees.
$250,000 Prize Pool
SOL tokens, exclusive NFTs, and partner tokens—all distributed to verified participants through the leaderboard system.
30–45 Min Deployment
Average time from concept to live quest. Custom branding, instant launch, and real-time analytics for every partner.
The gamification strategy delivered exceptional metrics.
Not vanity metrics—actual blockchain transactions and real engagement driven by quests.

From selfies to swaps
The magic of Domino's quest system is flexibility. Partners got creative, and our AI verification handled submissions that no API could validate.
AI-Verified Photo Quests
MonkeDAO's photoshop challenge: take a selfie at the booth, then photoshop your Monke PFP into the photo. AI verified booth logo visibility and valid PFP integration.
On-Chain Action Quests
Helium, Solstice, and others used hold-token quests to verify attendees actually held their tokens. Zeus and Carrot drove DEX volume through swap quests.
Social Growth Quests
Nine different post-on-X quests with specific hashtags and mentions. App download quests for Helium and WeRate. App store review quests verified by AI.
Fighting sybil: How Domino protected the airdrop
With $250K on the line, attackers came hard. Here's how it played out. Every quest required first completing one verification: scan your Breakpoint ticket QR code.
Brute Force DDoS
Attack: Attackers spammed the submission endpoint with garbage data.
Defense: Rate limiting, captcha quest, and request validation.
AI Generated Tickets
Attack: Attackers generated and submitted invalid QR codes using AI.
Defense: QR validation against Breakpoint's verified ticket database.
Stolen QR Codes from X
Attack: Scraped X for photos of attendees wearing badges to extract QRs.
Defense: One-time-use validation. If the real attendee scanned first, stolen code was worthless.
Fake Luma Events
Attack: Attackers created fake Luma events to generate valid-looking QR codes.
Defense: Validation specifically against the official Breakpoint event ID.
Zero sybils made it onto the airdrop leaderboard.
Scan the sky
The $250K airdrop didn't happen via a boring announcement. At the closing party, attendees looked up to see a drone show painting the night sky—the finale: a massive QR code drawn by synchronized drones, hovering above the crowd.
“Seeing $250K in rewards drop from the sky during the Solana closing party drone show made it feel real in a way that's hard to describe.”
What we learned (and what's next)
Breakpoint 2025 validated the model: conference engagement doesn't have to be passive. The infrastructure is proven. The sybil defenses held. The drones flew.
Duplicate Detection
AI-powered screening for resubmitted content across users—ensuring unique submissions and preventing gaming.
Tiered Quest Access
High-value quests stay attendee-only, while social amplification quests open to everyone—maximizing both exclusivity and reach.
48-Hour Windows
Extended verification periods for tweet engagement metrics—giving real engagement time to materialize.
